We had a great time with my sister and her kids at the cottage. We don't often get to spend time together here-so it was a sweet treat to be able to be together and relax without anything too pressing.

All summer SJ has wanted to try surfing. We're not exactly sure where this desire came from--we think either watching Jake & the Neverland Pirates on Disney or the surf shop downtown Saint Joe. Either way, this last weekend at the Lake, we were finally able to let her try.

I don't think any of us expected her to be such a natural, getting up and staying standing her first trip out. I was impressed--she did better than I would have!

After the craze of packing and storing and sweating and moving, it was so nice to spend nearly two weeks at Ford Lake. A much needed retreat after an exhausting month!
