I enjoyed the time we spent downtown Philadelphia. The weather was unseasonably warm and sunny--all the trees and spring time flowers were bursting into bloom.

The history is overwhelming--amazing to see the place were so much of our proud nation began. When we return to Philly one day, when Schaeffer can read, I'll enjoy reading all the landmarks and placards displaying America's humble beginnings.

It reminded me of how God called his people in the OT to make places of remembrance where he had demonstrated his great faithfulness.

"The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month. They set up camp at The Gilgal (The Circle) to the east of Jericho. Joshua erected a monument at The Gilgal, using the twelve stones that they had taken from the Jordan.
