Every winter the Schaberg family heads to Great Wolf Lodge for a weekend of waterpark fun. As the kids get older, it gets better and better and this year was no exception.

the cousin ballet

We had the great fun of having Eli & Jane off and on for a few days while Sara and Scott were out of the country--and got into all kinds of shenanigans, like ballet!

Schaeffer & Eli: Chicago Fire Department

Schaeffer & Eli walking over to the firehouse

Eli in the back of the truck

SJ & Eli playing firemen in the cab of the truck

the firemen let SJ & Eli go on the ladder!
(I couldn't help but think Griffin would be jealous!)

 big smiles all around

Last week Schaeffer Jo and I spent a day in the City with Sara, Eli and Jane. The Winklers live across from a Chicago Fire Department Station--who 'happened' to be putting up their Christmas lights with a ladder truck.

Schaeffer, Eli and I walked over to see the firemen and the truck---they were so kind, the kids not only got to sit in the truck, but also got to stand on top of the truck, by the ladder! Pretty awesome!

We had a great time with my sister and her kids at the cottage. We don't often get to spend time together here-so it was a sweet treat to be able to be together and relax without anything too pressing.

Enjoy the pictures.

floatie party

We didn't let a little rain slow us down on Thursday--we headed into Ludington for lunch and a little shopping. Oh, and ice cream. Did I mention ice cream?

We were relieved to see the sun poking through the clouds on Friday--just in time for a little floating and splashing before heading home.

What a fun-filled week!

a Slice of Summer!

What'cha doing in that laundry basket, silly girl?

Nothing sweeter than my kids soaking up summer!

S'mores!

Dive!

swimming in their clothes. they loved it.

gorgeous sunset

the aftermath

Wednesday's weather couldn't have been more perfect--sunny & 85 degrees. We spent every moment in the water, soaking up every last ray of sunshine and minute of fun.

S'mores were a great end to our fantastic day--the kids loved roasting the marshmallows & thought it was awesome to swim in their clothes.

I can't say it enough: i love summer.
